system?
Only
licensed attorneys and their paralegals are allowed register to the
system. Therefore registration is restricted to attorneys who have passed
the state bar and are in good standing. We've designed the system so your
involvement is the simple practice of law (document review, legal
consultation, etc.). However, your clients do not need to register to the
system in order to fill out the loan application.
Where are your rates?
The
daily rates are available to the public on the home page with an
opportunity to click-through for more detailed information. In
addition, the daily rates are emailed to all registered users
How does this provide value to my client?
By eliminating the mortgage broker from the process you are
saving your client thousands of dollars in junk fees and yield spread
premiums. In addition, they benefit from your legal training and having
you represent them during the loan process.
A
real estate purchase is often the largest economic decision a consumer
will make in their lifetime. The assistance of an attorney to guide them
through the process and provide them with the best possible service will
not only help them with their home purchase but also build trust and
hopefully result in a long-term business relationship between you and the
homeowner. What is the cost to
the attorney?
Nothing. Registering with us, using our online application
process, and trainings are

What will I be responsible for?
As
a JurisTrust registered attorney your involvement is the simple practice of
law (i.e., document review, legal consultation, etc.). JurisTrust staff are
available to answer questions and a staff underwriter is assigned to each
file.
What is my liability as an attorney?
Standard legal malpractice insurance is sufficient. JurisTrust is a
licensed underwriter in your state and the originator of the loans.
Assisting your client with the loan paperwork falls within the practice of
law.
How
are attorneys able to replace mortgage brokers?
In most states, attorneys are
exempted from mortgage broker licensing requirements. However, we've
designed the system so your involvement is the practice of law. Many years
ago, attorneys actually handled a lot more of the process than they do
now. Over the years competition from title insurance companies pushed many
attorneys out of the industry. Our mission is to help attorneys regain
that market by enabling them to assist the homeowner in their role as an
attorney and eliminate the mortgage broker.
How
quickly do you close loans?
By
using our online application and our streamlined process, most of our
loans close within about three weeks. We typically lock for 25 days and
have processed loans in as quick as 10 days.
How
much should I charge?
Each
attorney can set their own rates as either a flat fee or an hourly rate.
Your attorney fees should be commensurate with your time and effort.
Attorneys in many states are also eligible to receive a portion of the
title insurance premium.
What is a 1003 form?
A
1003 form is a standard real estate form used by Fannie Mae and Freddie
Mac to determine the credit worthiness of a borrower. JurisTrust
underwriters use the score generated from the 1003 to determine interest
rates for individual borrowers.
We've designed our online 1003 form to be very
straightforward.

need additional information.
What happens after the application is
submitted?
Once the loan application has
been submitted by the client, our underwriters will check their credit and
prepare a good faith estimate for them. The client will receive a good
faith estimate along with a customized list of requested materials the day
following application submission.
How difficult is the process to learn?
The
system is designed to be intuitive. If your clients are familiar with the
mortgage process it will be very simple. However, even new homeowners and
those just entering the real estate industry will find the system easy to
use.
Do you provide training?
Yes.
JurisTrust provides a free 30 minute training session. Our underwriters and
customer service staff are also available to help and answer your clients
questions at any point. The training will introduce you to our commercial
and residential loan system. However, your clients will need no
specialized training to use our system.
In
addition, JurisTrust is beginning to offer free seminar training across the
country. The seminar schedule will be posted on our website when the dates
are finalized.
